Error 500 on my site

Sorry by my english in advance, I know isn’t good.

I have a really big problem that, for some reason, last days has increased a lot. My site shows me (and my colaborators) an error message 500. I know this is a server error and I talk with my hosting provider plenty of times but they ensure me that there is something wrong on my site that cause problems on server. I use a VPS2 so is a good hosting.

Probably the problem exists because a plugin or maybe it’s something wrong on my theme (I’d like to know if there are some cases like mine). I’d like a private support (via mail) and, if is needed, I’ll create an admin acces so you can enter on my site and see what’s happening on it, because right now is extremly difficult work with.

Just in case, I enumerate all plugins I have on my site, maybe one of them is known to be problematic with your theme:

Allocate more memory to your website by editing wp-config.php and add this code in it.

define('WP_MEMORY_LIMIT', '96M');

It might resolves the issue.

I just tried it and the error 500 persist.

As you can see, the site charge fast, but when I try to acces I get an error 500.

What’s next? Need help.

Let’s see:

1. Js errors. Yes I had some errors with that, actually a lot, but I arrange it. The problem was on child theme (functions.php). Now all events with js seems to work properly.

2. I disabled all plugins except Visual Composer at first, and also updated theme to last version. Suddenly WordPress works great, so I started to enable plugins one by one and check if they cause some problems. Everything right (I didn’t enable WP-Rocket). I guessed problem was on there, but a couple hours late a new error 500 appeared on my screen.

I tell that because webpage works good during a couple of hours until crash again, maybe is a good hint for you to find out what’s happening on it.

3. I just followed your tutorial (except suhosin because my hosting doesn’t provide it). Let’s see how it works now, just after the changes have been made, web charges like lightning.

I hope this works fine, if it doesn’t, I would like share a couple of screencaptures with you because maybe some parameters on htacces o php.ini are causing the problem. For instance, php.ini had “memory_limit = 1024M
“.

The 500 error is usually a server side error meaning that there is something wrong but the server couldn’t provide more information about the problem. It is an general error usually caused by configuration issues with the websites programming, PHP or system permissions.

If you still can’t manage to solve this issue please provide the error log via http://pastebin.com/ so I can tack a closer look at this issue.

Hi everybody,

I made changes on my wordpress site following guide of system parameters provided by Catalin and everything went right, but, just in case, I’ve prefer await 4-5 days to see if appears some problem.

So far so good, so I write us now cause I believe my issue belongs to past.
