Hi,

I keep getting the ‘Sidebar’ in the post editor view, which is quite annoying.

I have ‘Blog and post template’ set to No Sidebar.

Any ideas?

Hello,
The ‘sidebar’ line in the back-end is there to simulate the front-end. When you set the sidebar position to none:
http://screencast.com/t/dYWfewCn the sidebar line will move to the right.
Thank you!

Is there anyway I can default set it to ‘none’ on every post and future posts, without having to do it manually each time?

Hello,
The default sidebar position works in 3 steps. If it is set from the post, then it will apply from there. If it’s set to default from the post, then it will apply from the per category setting or the global category setting: http://screencast.com/t/jQBZLqVgbcV. If it’s not specified here then there is a global setting here: http://screencast.com/t/ozmF5NHAY
I hope this helps
Thank you!

Strange, I have is set to ‘no side bar’ on the global settings on your screenshot here http://screencast.com/t/ozmF5NHAY

I’m trying to get the sidebar to appear everywhere except for posts 🙂

Hello,
You can achieve this by editing the category in the per category settings and set a sidebar to each category: http://screencast.com/t/PZy5ItK6 but selecting no sidebar from the blog and post template: http://screencast.com/t/VxrSMlokx
Thank you!

Hi,

Maybe I’m missing something? As I still cannot get it to work.

I have gone to Theme Panel > Categories and set each Category to use Right Sidebar.
After saving, I went into Theme Panel > Template Settings and set Blog and Post Template and set that to No sidebar.

When I add a new post, the sidebar still appears. I can set it to ‘no sidebar’ on the actual post – but I’d rather it never use it for posts, because I’m never going to need it.

thanks

Hello dan958,

I’ve tested on my side this option with no sidebar and everything seems to works fine. Please make sure you do not have set it the sidebar only on your post, otherwise, those settings will be overwritten and on this post you will have a sidebar even if you set in Blog and Post Templates ->no sidebar. http://screencast.com/t/qnuuwgD4LG

Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!

Thank you for the message!

Hi,

I can do that okay – on your last screenshot I can click that and the sidebar goes away – but I have to do this on every new post I create. Is there a way of making this default, so that I dont have to keep clicking this on every new post?

I am having the same exact issue. I have gone into…

Template Settings > Blog and posts template > CUSTOM SIDEBAR + POSITION = None

Categories > Category global settings > CUSTOM SIDEBAR + POSITION = None

Categories > Per category settings > Every single category I have > CUSTOM SIDEBAR + POSITION = None

Then when I go to Add New post, Sidebar position is set to “Default”, which shows a right sidebar in the post editor. Even though all the settings for “Blog and Post Templates”, “Category Global Settings”, and “Per Category Settings” have the sidebar position set to NONE, the default setting when creating a new post is a RIGHT sidebar….when it should be NONE according to all of the global settings change I made. I have to click on NONE when creating the new post in order for it to actually be none. Its like its ignoring all of the global settings, and I can’t figure out why it keeps using a right sidebar, when I have everything setup for NO sidebar.

I thought this was just me, I am glad that someone else is also having this issue.

Hello,
We could not recreate this issue on our side so please send an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide wp-admin so we can inspect the problem ourselves.
Please also include a link to this topic so we know who you are and what the problem is.
Thank you!

Huh…well, it seems to be working just fine now.

Hi,
The sidebar should be gone once you disable it everywhere. This looks like a caching issue. maybe your cache was cleared and the settings applied. If you encounter this issue again, try to manually clear your cache and see if the settings apply afterwards.
Thank you!

Hello

What if i want to have sidebar visible for my readers when they read my blog, but i want to have it disable in in post edit view. Is this option possible by default so i don`t need to change it every time i publish something?

Thanks for help

Hello,
Unfortunately the theme has no such option. The back-end sidebar is meant to simulate the front-end so you can see the positioning of the elements better.
Thank you!
