main menu background smaller

Hi,

i would like to make main menu background smaller … same with as contend… so i applied this css style to panel custom code

.td-boxed-layout .td-header-style-3 .td-header-menu-wrap, .td-boxed-layout .td-header-style-4 .td-header-menu-wrap {
background-color: transparent !important;
}

for some reason its not working …. in firebug works perfect but not on live site …

for header i use style 3 : boxed dark menu

I applied the style in custom code admin panel …. Deleted cache refresh page … Nothing

Hello,
Please check the custom css you already have in the theme panel. Many of these types of problems come from an open css tag or other css syntax errors.

this is what i have :

.td-post-template-2 .td-post-featured-image img {
margin: 0 auto;
}

.td-post-template-2 .td-post-featured-image .wp-caption-text {
text-align: center;
}

.td-boxed-layout .td-header-menu-wrap .td-boxed-layout .td-header-menu-wrap {
background-color: transparent;
}

.maincategoryclass {
background: #EFEDE1 none repeat scroll 0% 0%;
}

please advice

the css style i apply , seems to be overwritten by original style for same area ….

.td-boxed-layout .td-header-style-3 .td-header-menu-wrap, .td-boxed-layout .td-header-style-4 .td-header-menu-wrap {

which is from admin panel settings …. overwrites custom code ….

    background-color: transparent !important;
}

i just need the main menu background to be same width as website contend area ….

Hello,
I tested the code again and could not recreate the issue on my end. I added it in the theme panel custom css box and it applied as expected. Please try to disable all plugins except visual composer to rule out a plugin conflict which may interfere with the css. If it still will not work, then you can edit the style.css directly in the file and set the color to transparent. http://screencast.com/t/tChaCvdyVV

Hi,

Ok i no longer need this … what i want is to have current menu/active menu this color >> #d13030

also for hover same color >>> #d13030

so i applied

.sf-menu a:focus, .sf-menu a:hover, .sf-menu a:active {
color: #d13030 !important;
}

which works fine for hover …. but soon i select a menu which becomes the active menu …. it doesnt stay red >>> color: #d13030

please advice

in panel theme colors ACTIVE & HOVER COLOR only changes the small line under menu ….. not the menu itself … so i have this set to transparent ….

Hi,

For the active menu item to retain it’s color you need to use a child selector and use the current menu item like so:
.sf-menu > .current-menu-item > a{
color:#d13030!important
}
