problem image cropping featured

i have a problem with featured image cropping.

i selected crop option in post settings but, images doesn’t crop. GD library in installed.

see screenshot.. on category listing page i get this:

on article page i have blank on left and right near photo. how to fix?

i userd regenereate all thumbs but nothing change.

I think your images where of different height, and the theme maintain the proportion of them.
how big where you images?
