I’m trying to hide individual posts within the “Most Popular” and “Hot News” sections of the sidebar. I’m currently using a plugin that hides these posts from search results, front page results, etc., but I cannot seem to figure out how to keep them from doing displayed on the sidebar. How would I go about doing this? Thanks for your help!

If you want to hide/exclude some posts from your sidebar, you can set it from Visual Composer (block settings) if you are using this way, like this: http://screencast.com/t/e2lsMaeM

I’m currently just using the default sidebar and not one through Visual Composer. I have all the posts that I want hidden tagged in the same category, so I can easily hide them from the “Latest Articles” section of my front page and elsewhere, my issue is only with the default “Latest Articles” and “Hot News” sections of the default sidebar. Is there any feature to hide them from this default sidebar?

You can use the same method Catalin showed you and apply it to your sidebar. Latest articles or hot news are simply blocks placed in a sidebar that have the option to exclude posts exactly like in visual composer: http://screencast.com/t/OBfe0OeE9dJ
