Please provide more details about what you’re trying to do and maybe I can help you. However before making any modifications in theme’s files make sure you do a full backup to the database and your current wp install. This is a safety measure, in case something goes wrong you can always get back to the previous install.

depending of the post type I want to output text rather than the date.
I’ve allready implemented this on a previous installation of the theme and modified the core files to archive that. I’m currently updating the site on a developer installation and am looking for ways to not modifiy the core if possible. The child implementation has become a lot better in v2, but still doesn’t allow for all needed modifications.

Unfortunately the files from booster can’t be moved in child theme. Now the only way is to modify the main theme file, but make sure you backup your current install before making any changes.
We intend to improve the child theme support for our theme in the feature.

Allright.. is there any way to change the theme-function by redefining it inside a plugin like overwriting it?

We never tried that but I suppose that is possible with some custom modifications. This is a very complex task which require many customizations and also very good coding skills.
Unfortunately we cannot offer any type of custom work as we work hard on the development, updates, fixes and support. If you need this and you can’t do it yourself my advice is to hire a freelancer from sites like: http://studio.envato.com/ to do it for you.
