Canonical URL homepage problem

Hello

I have checked my website SEO on “quixapp” site, and a red advertisement like this appears to me:

“This page’s canonical link element points to another page, which might prevent this page from showing up in the rankings”

First of all, I have asked to google support forum and someone have answered me that this mistake happens because the canonic URL includes “/” and my homepage doesn´t include it. All URLs of my website includes that bar, so I should revise the configuration, he said.

I understand that probably is not a question related with Newspaper theme, but he suggested that I must check setting template, permalinks and Seo By Yoast, which I use, recommended by your tutorials.

It´s a problem that I am really worry about.

Thanks

If using Yoast, check the option under links to [x] uncheck the option to enforce trailing slash…. many folks check that on when not really needed. Also, check what URL you actually have entered on the WP admin > settings > general

Hello

Yes, I´m using Yoast but I can´t find exactly where is this option to uncheck the option to enforce trailing slash.

The URL I have on the WP admin>settings>general doesn´t have any trailing slash. Should I put it? I have two boxes with the same homepage URL.

Thanks

I don’t appear to be putting trailing slash on my sites in the wp admin > settings > general

don’t remember where the setting is in Yoast SEO — maybe try the permalinks area ?

I can´t find this option in Yoast Seo, I have been looking for all plugin setting, but I can´t see it.

It´s something that I would like to solve, because this issue prevent homepage from showing up in the rankings, so I think it´s important.

Thanks
