If you have the ultimate version of the theme, please ensure that your child theme has the same version, otherwise, all the customizations from the child theme will not applied to the latest version of the theme. For each update, the child theme will be changed and you have to redo all the customizations from this file because the code will be overwritten.

We have the paid 6.6.4 version of the theme.
Our WPperson created a child theme using child theme configurator.

It appears that your child theme is not created correctly or you have customization in it that break the layout of the theme. Please try to recreate the child theme and use the one that comes with the theme: http://screencast.com/t/kzEeYVKZ6LR
I’m not sure what a child theme configurator is but I assume this is the cause of the problem. It’s never a good idea to rely on plugins for something that can be done via ftp. Please follow this guide to properly set up your child theme: https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-child-theme-support-tutorial/
