Hi i need to add the option for people to subscribe or ‘sign up’ / register, for our news – i’d like the option to have this displayed on each page permanently, but also for some stories to be accessed only if they sign in / put in their email address?

Unfortunately, our theme does not have such an option for this kind of widget. The theme pop up sign in widget is based on WordPress sign in functionality and after the user is logged in, it will link to the author page so if you want to change this you will need custom modifications, here you can find the code – http://screencast.com/t/XItENm7o I suggest to get someone to help you if you want to do this implementation as we cannot provide custom services or you can try to find some plugins with this functionality and see how it works for you.

as i have no experience, i’m not able to implement that code, but i’m presuming there are plug ins available for this theme that will enable me to have people register their email address with us? do you have any recommendations? or do i just choose any plug in available on the market? is it easy to install – get the plug in up and running? i used site ground to install the theme for me, as i’m a beginner, so worried i won’t be able to understand the plug in process either?

If you want to have a subscription box/newsletter you can try a plugin like Mail Chimp: https://wordpress.org/plugins/mailchimp-for-wp/ We usually recommend Mail Chimp because most users seem to have it and working properly on their website. Unfortunately, I have no better solution as this type of plugins is not tested. Another plugin that you could use is User Pro. Please notice that these kinds of plugins are not tested and we cannot say for sure it is working 100% with our theme. It is possible to require additional customization for good results. Please notice that we cannot provide support and additional implementation for untested plugins and if you are not aware the steps in this regard, please consider hiring a freelancer/developer to implement these functionalities for you in our theme because we cannot provide custom services at the moment, sorry!
