Help!! I have a post where at the bottom, the link needs to click through to go to a specific website. I add the link as normal to the image and set it to open in a new tab. I don’t have modal turned on for the image, yet, when I save the post the image opens up in a modal and doesn’t actually click through to the website like it should. Please help, how can I fix this??
Post to fix
And the image is the Target logo towards the bottom of the post, it should link to their website, but instead it’s opening in a weird modal that it’s not set to open in.
Ok quick update..it seems when I manually add the link in the “Text mode” of the editor and save it, it worked fine. But if I try to center align the image it goes back to not working.. Any ideas?
Edited to add: if I wrap the image in a p tag and center the p tag that seems to work. But manually centering the image itself and adding a link seems to cause the issues I mentioned above.

Hello,
Unfortunately the modal image/ lightbox feature from our theme does not work with external links. The modal image was created to get the image from the image link so if you change this link, it will not be able to grab the image. We are working on updating this feature and fix it. Hopefully in a future version this will not be a problem anymore. Until then if you want to have modal image and external links, you can use this plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-lightbox-2/ (not officially tested but it seems to work fine with our theme, You just need to remove the theme’s lightbox so you will not get double images)
I hope this helps.
Thank you!
HI Bogdan, to be clear, I was not trying to make the linked image in a modal. It just did that by itself. I still don’t know how or why it did that. What I wanted was a simple centered image that clicks through to the link it was assigned on an external website. But at any rate, by manually typing in my hyperlinks and centering the paragraph that the image is placed in, it seems to work like it should again.
The issue I am now concerned about going forward is, will each time I add an image (and even if I set the modal to be OFF) it still shows in a modal and then affects the link. Ever seen this happen with anyone else?
Hello,
The modal will always show if this option is active: http://screencast.com/t/9zM0undKs74T If this option is active, then the individual settings for the modal image will not work. If you wish to have some images that link to external links and they to not require a modal image, then we recommend deactivating this option and activating the modal image manually.
Thank you!
