Visual Composer Issues

I was having issues with my visual composer plugin so I followed instructions by Emil G to update the plugin. At which point it screwed up the columns and row grid I had established. Then when trying to get support from Visual Composer they said I should contact you guys.

The issue is because there is an inbuilt version of Visual Composer (or the related code) present in your theme which is overriding the standalone plugin. You will have to get rid of it. I would advise you to do so with the help of theme author, otherwise you might loose the extra elements added by him. Once this is done, you can install the standalone plugin and it will work fine. Kindly check.

How can I fully delete the plugin and then reinstall it?

Thanks!
Solo

Hello solo89,

First of all, you have to disable this from Plugins area, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/1SNzKy1atz and then you have to delete like this -> http://screencast.com/t/EYzQqUbQCN -> http://screencast.com/t/nrFixynj In the follow step, you have to install it from Theme plugins section area, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/s3wlO8cQmw Also, please ensure that you have the latest version of our theme.

Hope this helps!

Thanks so much! I didn’t realize I could install the plugins from that theme area. The issue is OBVIOUSLY with the VC plugin, and I’ve reached out to them for help. The 4.9 that is bundled with Newspaper has a bug as well as the 4.10 standalone version they’re selling. Once I upgraded to either of these versions my grid is gone and everything is one long column.

Thanks!

jeez, and now they’re saying it’s an issue within the theme:

We checked it further and the issue is because theme author has modified our default column classes using: https://wpbakery.atlassian.net/wiki/display/VC/Change+CSS+Class+Names+in+Output
Due to this it breaks upon the update. You can get in touch with him and get rid of the above code to get it back. Kindly check.

How can I get this fixed?

Hello solo89,

We do not recommend the use of other versions besides the one that comes bundled with the theme because we cannot say for sure that this will work well. Every time, please take as reference our demo and compare with your side…if the layout is different, it means that you have a local problem with your side and we recommend trying to disable all the active plugins, clear all cache and instal only the plugins that come bundled with our theme and rule out the conflicting plugins.

Hope this helps!

Hi Catalin,

I’m using the plugin that comes bundled with the theme, and I’m still having the issue– help!

They say it’s something to do with the CSS built into the theme:

https://wpbakery.atlassian.net/wiki/display/VC/Change+CSS+Class+Names+in+Output

We checked it further and the issue is because theme author has modified our default column classes using: https://wpbakery.atlassian.net/wiki/display/VC/Change+CSS+Class+Names+in+Output
Due to this it breaks upon the update. You can get in touch with him and get rid of the above code to get it back. Kindly check.

Hello solo89,

Please try to disable all the active plugins, leave just Visual Composer, clear all cache, purge CDN files if you are using and instal only the plugins that come bundled with our theme and rule out the conflicting plugins. Please keep in mind that the Visual Composer will be adjusted by the theme, otherwise, will not work fine. If you are installed the Visual Composer ‘standalone’ as they suggested, this plugin will not work as expected because it will be adjusted by the theme. Please try our advice and let us know how it goes. After this if your problem is still there, please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com with your credentials (login information) so we can further inspect the problem. Also, please provide the link to this topic so we know who you are and what the issue is.

Hope this helps!
