How to insert images side by side but not line by line?

I would like to insert the images in my post like this :

however i got result in Newsmag theme like this:

is it caused by the css formatting? and how can i fix this case? thank you so much.

By default the theme set a display block for any image loaded in post content, that’s why they appear on different lines. However you can chose how images to be aligned from WordPress editor: http://screencast.com/t/3cCi5vEK – http://screencast.com/t/DrbHV4aZUZmL

I found it best to click the “Add Media” button in the post and then click “Create Gallery” you can add them in line that way and use WP Gallery Custom Links plugin if you need to make the images clickable
