Changing Content (page) background color

I am a noob so go easy…

I am trying to find out how to change the page/post background color. It is currently set to just plain white. I can find how to change the text color and upload a new site background but not a way to change the content/page background color. I am assuming I will need to edit the style.css.

Let me know how it goes ad this is not what you mean please provide more details and also your site url, so I can inspect this closer and get back to you with a more accurate answer.
