I’m wondering if there is a way to change the sort order of the posts in a categorie page. By default the posts are displayed by the lastest and I want a random order.
Is there a way to do this?

Hi,
Unfortunately there is no setting for this so it can only be done by editing the theme files. This will be no easy task however as there is no “sorting” implemented for the category archives. The easiest way to go about this is to use a page for your category and make a 301 redirect from the category archive to your specific page and so you can have better control of the blocks and sorting of the posts.

Thank you for your tip. Tried and seems to be an option. Just need to figure how to do that 301 redirect thing you mention 🙂
BTW, is there any setting to the archive pages? I’m want the TAG pages wiht no sidebar but can’t find the place to set it!

As for the 301 redirect there are many online resources on the subject. It can be done either with plugins or by coding it in htaccess.
