Is there anyway to:
1. Stop admin appearing as author?
2. Show author on new posts only?
1) Select the author you want to use when creating post? You can select this in WP, as a built-in function at bottom of post screen from drop-down menu – not a theme function. (Both pages and posts!)
2) login to post as author account vs logging in as admin. Any posts you do when logged in as author are assigned to that author.
3) if using a syndication system, set posts to post “as author” not admin.
If you would like to change the author for more than one post then go to the edit posts in wordpress admin area; select the post and select bulk edit from drop down and change the author (the “user” level must be set at “author” not contributor for this to work).
You can also change the “display name” of the admin, by editing that user and putting in a name, then use drop down on author (“admin”) info page, to display that “name” in place of the word “admin.”
Aside: for security in WP, you should *always* delete the “admin” account after you create something else as the admin, with superuser privileges.
