My setup is very similar to yours.. I’m also using siteground hosting, and W3 Total Cache i’ve found it to be be really good. I’m scoring 99/100 (without ads on pingdom).

– First thing to do is use some of Chris’s mods in particular remove the Emoji Support, and any other plugins that may be loading assets on your homepage (Share plugins, Contact Forms).. you need to conditionally load these assets

– Also i minified the main javascript file using http://javascript-compressor.com/
– Remove all CSS your not using (BBpress, Buddypress, Woocommerce) and minify your CSS here csscompressor.com

I hope you get this working soon, as i have had no issues with TagDiv themes

Also how can i set the header ad to only load on post page ?

Any update on locating the problem ?

This seems to be a site wide issue.. it does it on archive pages, related posts, basically everything..

I’ve tried to look, i’m hoping that you can locate the issue.. since i disabled all plugins and tested and it was still there, does it mean it would be a theme issue?

I checked using chrome tool.. and found this is coming from the entry title a link.. so i certainly think this is a major SEO issue for the site and need to fix this asap. Can you please help me fix this?

This may be obvious to some but you can improve your site load time MASSIVELY! if you aren’t using any of these plugins (Woocommerce, BBpress, Buddypress) remove all the CSS in the stylesheet.. i found there is quite alot for Buddypress

After that i reccommend using this site http://csscompressor.com/ – it has many settings to do with readability, so you can optimize your site but still be able to read it clearly.

Also is it possible to change archive pagination to infinite scroll ?

I’m using NewsMag 1.7 but noticed a few things in version 2 that seem interesting.

1. Added .screen-reader-text class for better usability – I found the CSS for this in styles, but what exactly are you using this for, is it on post page? Would like to know what this adds and how to add it.

2. We audited the theme and and we made major improvements in speed and memory usage, especially in use cases that have big taxonomies, like a lot of categories or tags. – Is this something i would be able to fix on NewsMag 1.7, please let me know how to implement improvements?

3. The panel now uses the modern WordPress media upload – Is this easily updated with one file and which file is it?

Also smart lists get the full image, is there a way to get a scaled image to a specific size? Like the image size on big grid?

That plugin is not maintained and people have reported issues with that plugin.. it’s not really wise to install an unmaintained plugin such as Animated GIF Resize, i’m surprised tagdiv still mention it..

There has to be another work around to this

I thought about opening a new thread for this, but it probably wouldn’t get noticed.. anyways i thought this may spark some good discussion.

I recently spent about $500 for a freelancer to do SEO work for my site (basically generating backlinks) they were able to improve my sites ranking for a number of keywords, although i still feel $500 is way too much for what i received (keep this in mind when hiring SEO work!). I ended up stopping this because i was scared of Google’s reaction to this sudden rise in backlinks..

The reason as to why i mention this was because i’m interested to see what other’s are doing in terms of actually marketing their site. Most of my traffic to date has been through Stumbleupon (although bounce rate was high) i was able to get 50,000 page views to one post in 24 hours, which was insane!! But it’s not sustainable traffic.

SEO work is not my forte, so i’m really struggling to know how to improve my site’s ranking in google without getting penalised for doing something wrong. I have no doubt there are some of you who are great in this area, so i would love to here your strategy.
