P.s.: In my case “Software” is a category. So I don’t want WP/Theme to auto-build a category page. In this case Software. How/where do I disable this?

Aargh, crazy making me it is (as master Yoda would say ๐Ÿ™‚ )

Hi MiriamNZ,

Always good to have a supporter ๐Ÿ™‚

Also took me (more than) an hour to find out it is by default inpossible with the current version of the theme to display posts using the AND operator ๐Ÿ™

Instead of suggesting to mention this in the documentation, I suggest the developers simply put this relatively simple feature in the next new version of the theme!

I am really quite surprised that nobody noticed the lack of this feature before and the developers haven’t put it in there. Now is the time! People are starting to ask for it.

Your great suggestion Miriam of using category AND tag only works if you have tagged your posts accordingly. Unfortunately I have not, so can’t use your elegant method. Maybe I will retag, will think about it.

Radu from TagDiv: can you update me on the chance of this AND feature will be implemented in the next version?

Thanks all!

Hi Emil,

You are absolutely right. The problem is gone, I can also see the arrows now.
They just don’t show up on only one of my computers, so the problem is with that machine and not the theme.

Also thanks for the css code regarding the dropdown menu on the right, also fixed now. Very perceptive of you ๐Ÿ™‚

Thank you for the awesome support! ๐Ÿ™‚

Perfect, thank you!

This custom CSS does the trick (and is update proof).

.sf-menu li a {padding-left: 0px !important;}

I put mine at 9 px and looks good!

Hope this works for you as well Emma!

Hi Emil,

Could you not simply send me the menu-header.php file that should do the trick?

I followed these instruction to the letter:
http://screencast.com/t/jCgKv7UP, http://screencast.com/t/JsewTTwhW

So a screenshot of the php-file would also show these modifications.

Hope to receive the correct menu-header.php that A) deletes the search icon and B) makes the free space available for the main menu, C) without screwing up the logo.

Thank you,

Hi Emma,

Good to hear I have a supporter ๐Ÿ™‚

Now let’s hope they respond and fix it elegantly and efficiently.

Ehmmm..ok. ๐Ÿ™

Your option nr2 introduces a new error. It screws up my logo!
Check here: http://goo.gl/R1TKQ5

Please inform me on how to completely remove the search icon spot without screwing up the logo? ๐Ÿ™‚

Thank you…

Awaiting your answer

Hi Emil,

Lowering the font size is no option for me, that option does no good to the layout and looks of the website.

So I will go for option number 2, completely removing the search icon spot.
I presume this option is not update proof? I have to edit the PHP files EVERY time after an update?

If so, PLEASE implement the search icon spot ON/OF switch in the theme admin panel in a future update of the theme. Many people will thank you guys for this I am sure.

Thanks

Hi Radu,

Still waiting for your solution on how to fill the unused space formerly occupied by the Search Icon.

See screenshot here: http://goo.gl/2DI0iV

Thank you.

I have the same problem, and using theme latest version 3.8.4.

Hi Radu,

Wow! That was easy, and update proof ๐Ÿ™‚

Now how do I make my last Main Menu entry use this free space?
Just take a look on my website (www.techplanet.nl) and you will see what I mean. The last entry called Forum should fit on the place where the magnifying glass used to be.

Can this also be solved using custom CSS, and therefore be update proof?

Thanks

Hi,

I Think I saw some other people asking the same question. The answer was that they had to edit PHP files themselves. Surely there is a more elegant way, that also holds when the theme is updated?

Nobody wants to keep editting PHP files after every update.

So please, tell me how to do this elegantly and update proof. And implement this Search Icon on/off in the admin backend please.

Hope to hear from you asap

Hi,

Just to inform you. To get this simple AND-operator functionality for showing posts that are in two categories in the Widget Blocks on my website, I had to buy a premium plugin called Super Post.

Please put this feature in a next version of the theme. I find it ridiculous that this isn’t already in there.

Thank you.

Or what about adding a new SORT ORDER for all blocks in a next version of the theme. A sort order for ultimate customization of posts to show.

Like a sort order for showing all reviews, regardless of the rating they get. That would solve my problem immediately ๐Ÿ™‚

So please think about adding a new sort order for all Blocks with extensive filtering options. Like only showing posts that belong to specific tags, categories etc.

Think about it…

Thanks for the info.

You sue there is no easier way? Kind of disappointed that this isn’t a standard feature of this theme.

Maybe there is a plugin that creates a new category from two others?
