WP super-cache plugin does not work

Hello tagdiv-team and community,

I´m currently developing a website with the Newspaper-theme. I configured the plugin as recommended in the theme guidelines. The plugin shows that all posts/sites are cached but when I test it with googles page-speed-tool or gtmetrix it says that gzip is disabled.
PHPinfo says gzip is enabled, so it´s not the host´s fault.
When I click on the debug log it says that there is a misconfiguration / CGI-access is disabled. Anybody has an idea what to do about it?

Best regards,
Klemens

Hello klemensH,

Please notice that the GZIP compression and the caching process is two different things and unrelated to each other. Please consult your hosting provider and check this option for GZIP compression. For more information about these options, please check our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/

Hope this helps!

Thanks.

Hi Catalin,
thank you very much for your quick response. I´ll do some further research before asking in the forum next time!
However, the most helpful link I could find regarding this topic was this one: http://code.tutsplus.com/tutorials/optimizing-wordpress-loading-speed-with-headerphp-htaccess–wp-25279

Check with your hosting provider. gzip/deflate must be ‘active’ on the web server.
You can control settings for that via your htaccess file if on unix/apache. Trickier with Windows hosting.

Theme has nothing to do with hosting settings.
