Spinning square when saving inline google ad

Wordpress 4.5.1
Newspaper 6.7.2

I had the same problem with v 6.6 after WordPress upgrade, and in attempting to check the database, I killed all of my Newspaper options. Lucky I had most of them saved in a test site, but it still took 6 hours to work out what was wrong and to fix it.

So now I’ve installed 6.7.2 and I had a spinning square for 30 minutes.
All I did was put the adsense code into the Inline ad textarea and clicked Save.
The same thing happens when trying to save any ad position.

BUT: I just tried adding a local ad
and this works, so it seems the Newspaper code doesn’t like the javascript.
Also I kept the <ins … ></ins> part of the code and deleted the script parts and that saved.
So it looks like that code gets stuck on the script tags.

(also, my VC designer still doesn’t work, but I don’t care about that as much.)

Hello newsblaze,

First of all, please ensure that your System Status are correctly increased to the higher value according to our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/ Also, please make you sure that you are using the latest version of Visual Composer 4.11.2 that come bundled with our latest update 6.7.2. Please check your Ad code to be the correct one because it would be most likely that the theme does not support your code. Also, try to disable all the active plugins, leave just Visual Composer to active, clear all cache and rule out the conflicting plugins and check after the results.

Hope this helps!

Thank you for your understanding!

Thank you Catalin, but it is much more than the javascript code.
The problem is part of the admin in the theme no longer works with Wordfence activated.
Today, I tried to change the background color. I got the spinning square.
To save that, I had to deactivate Wordfence, edit and save it again and then reactivate Wordfence.
Alan.

Hello newsblaze,

Please check this topic here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/cant-save-theme-settings/ because there was discussed this problem about Wordfence plugin. If you have the Wordfence plugin, please disable it or set it according to workaround that was explained in that topic by Bryson T.

Hope this helps!

Thank you for the message!
