Hi,
after update 7.0 (also all plugin updated) everything ok on desktops and tablets, instead there no pages on smartphones (with android browser and android)… even in home viewing starts from the “last articles”
even on smartphones posts and categories are seen correctly: only pages are wrong
also I wanted to ask how to remove category tag on smartphones
thanks
I have the same issues. I was looking at their code and they have placed a mobile content box on each page. This would work if you are adding relatively simple content. However, for our purposes, we want to use the built in functions of the theme on pages. I’ve gotten the plugin to display the original content, but have not gotten it to execute the shortcodes of the theme itself.
Same here guys. Disabling the mobile theme till we get a solution.
Hi,
problem of related articles also on desktop and tablet
not shown related articles (in my case by tag), but last articles…
Summarizing with version 7.0 my problems are:
1) do not display pages on mobile
2) related items no longer work (also on the desktop)
3) category tag on smartphones always present on the mobile
4) on the mobile subcategories displayed incorrectly
Hello all,
Please notice that this is not a problem with our Newspaper 7 !!! This is just the behaviour of this type of additional mobile theme plugin. If you have enabled the mobile theme, the pages will be displayed in the simple mode and you can only add your desired text which will appear on your mobile view. Please notice that this simple core for the mobile theme has been designed for a fast page loading, speed, clean content and relevant information. Also, if you are using the mobile theme, your home page will not display you the original page but only the big grid and the related articles because the Visual Composer not working for the mobile theme, though. If you do not want to have this behaviour for your mobile mode, you simply disable the tagDiv Mobile theme plugin from plugins area, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/uoSa0R9CUL6
For more information about our new feature, please consult our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/
Thank you for your understanding!
In my case the page has only texts in it without anything else. But, whenver I click on a page link on mobile theme, it just shows me the page title.. The text is invisible. I think that’s an issue here not simplification.
I got it right now. There’s another field to copy the original page text to mobile page version. I couldn’t find that on the documentation though.
Hi Catalin,
thanks now we understand…
however, my site for mobile in home doesn’t show the big grid
and the related articles.. only related articles: is correct?
How can i show tre big grid as in the categories?
Also no longer work related items (by tag, also on desktop)
and category tag on smartphones displayed incorrectly when
category hasn’t subcategories…
Thanks
Hi Catalin,
Thanks for your reply. So this is not a bug, this is really about the behavior of mobile themes.
My conclusion, if I have a site with multiple pages would be better if I do not use mobile themes Plugin, right?
If I may suggestion: Can we have more options for where and when the mobile theme to be displayed? For example: Use mobile theme for the types of posts, Use mobile theme for the types of pages, etc. IMHO
Thank you in advance,
Hello all,
@ankush, please notice that the mobile theme does not render the Visual Composer shortcode for your blocks from your pages but only the text with the Big Grid and Related articles will be displayed for your frontend in mobile theme. This is not an issue, this is just the mobile theme behaviour. For more information about this case, please check our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/
P.S. If you need the further assistance in this regard, please create another topic and tell there the problem for avoiding the confusions from this topic!
@Bintmusic, unfortunately, this is not the right behaviour for your mobile theme. Please notice that this plugin will display you by default a Big Grid and related articles because this is the template structure implemented. Please check your plugins list and try to disable all of them which are not tested with our theme because it could create a lot of unknown issues in this regard and leave just our untested plugins. Clear all your caches and check the results. Also, please notice that the Big Grid display all the posts which are in Featured Category. Please check this category and add there some posts which you want to be displayed on your theme mobile. ->> http://screencast.com/t/CPmP3tlkuCo
For your second problem, if you are referring to the Related Posts for Post page and also Related articles, indeed is a mini-bug and we will solve it as soon as possible in next future update.
P.S If you need the further assistance in this regard, please create another topic.
@Ardhi, unfortunately, this is the actual functionality of our mobile theme. Maybe in the future updates, we will develop this plugin and we try to implement new improvements but we cannot say for sure when it will be. Thank you for your suggestions. If you have a lot of pages and if you want to display all your content from these pages for mobile mode, you can to disable the mobile theme plugin. It is just your choice.
Thanks.
You keep pointing to the page https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/ which has absolutely no documentation on the fact that you have to re-create each of your static pages by hand using a completely different method.
Perhaps you should add documentation or notes to that page indicating this is a completely separate theme, that no existing pages will work with the mobile theme unless you re-create them or create new content by hand.
I for one will be disabling and uninstalling the mobile theme until documentation is provided on how to do this, as I have no idea what will/won’t work.
I love how fast it is, but right now every single one of my menu items and pages are completely blank without documentation…..
