Essential files in patch_2.3.1_3.0 ?

Hi there,

Following my previous post here : https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/essential-files-to-upload-for-update/, I am trying to upload only essential files for updates, in order to keep my custom design intact.

So I downloaded the theme, then I opened patch_2.3.1_3.0, to find that there are several files in here.

And my question is : do I have to upload all of them, or just a few are essential for updates ?

In order to make a clean update you have to update all files included in patch folder. All files are essentials more or less and we can’t say do not update that file because is not important.

Last question before I take the plunge by updating by myself :

So all files in patch_2.3.1_3.0 are going top “newsmag”, nothing goes to “newsmag child” ?

All files must be edited within main theme, not in child theme.
