Unfortunately the designers who have arranged my Newsmag theme, have dumped me alone with my updates….
In order to update the latest Newsmag version without erasing their design work (for which I spent a lot), I have a few questions :
1- Are there any essential files to be uploaded, in order to update the whole theme ? My idea is to upload only these essential files, in order to save the actual design.
2- Does the new updated make changes on any loop-x.php files ? If not, I would save the actual ones in order to save some actual classes.
3- What about Newsmag Child, any updates in it or can I keep it as it is ?

You can find the changed file in patch_2.3.5_2.3.6 folder. You can use that patch to update the theme without loosing your current customizations. Just replace the old files with the ones from patch and the update will be made.
We didn’t changed any of loop/single files in last theme update. With regard at child theme there are no additional changes made so your code should work fine. There would be a chance to appear some issues with sidebar position on page. If this happens go to appearance > widgets and drag the widget from footer 3 to footer 1: http://screencast.com/t/ZZQZ6eU9
Visual Composer plugin can be updated without any risks as the actual page structure will be kept.

Thanks for this Andrei, but where do I get this patch_2.3.5_2.3.6 folder ?
I went on my Theme Forest account, I downloaded the theme as explained here : https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-how-to-update-the-theme/, I opened it, but I couldn’t find andy patch_2.3.5_2.3.6 folder.
