1) I do not use the mobile plugin. I noticed the menu takes a while to load, it does that zoom-out animation then displays the menu. We have a long list of categories and the user is unable to scroll.
2) Search does the same zoom out but the search box never appears.
Is there a way to implement a less resource heavy menu? and any reason why the search isn’t working?

Unfortunately there is no way of changing the menu. There is no alternative menu. What you can do however is improve your site speed by following this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/
Also the scrolling problem could be a plugin conflict so please disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files.
