I am having difficulty getting newspaper to work consistently across browsers, at the moment it should look like;

and according to browser testers and customer feedback it looks like ;

which is out dated and chaotic in layout.
I reported it initially to the server who said that they think it is related to the template.
Can anyone advise/help

In this case, you should make a full backup to your database to be safe, clear the actual theme and install the latest version of it from scratch via FTP because this is the surest method in this regard.
