Update to 7.3 – General Question

Hi,

I am still using Newspaper 6.7 (dinedrinkbellingham.com). I want to update to 7.3 but have a couple general questions.

Are the bugs people reported with update resolved?

Do I need Visual Composer? Does Newspaper 7.3 still come with it?

The site Admins probably won’t be back until Monday so I will offer my own experience.

I’m on the December 2016 version and there were no bugs for me, I find most releases now have very few issues compared with say V4 or V6 updates years ago.

I’m doing the latest update tonight and from the change list and other users comments I wouldn’t imagine there will be any issues.

Yes you need VC and it comes with the update (latest version).

I’m just going to snag this post, rather than creating my own topic. I’m new to themes in general, and this will be my first update. I read on their post about how to update, that I should delete my old one, download and upload the new Newspaper 7, and then I can reselect it. My concern is, will I lose all of my customization? Like my theme colors, google analytics code, etc.

No you won’t lose any of the user selected options from dashboard or theme panels (incl your Analytics code). You would only lose things like if you had manually edited a header.php file or functions.php file or similar.
