Updated to latest theme files. Now padding and nav is behaving strangely

Good day.

We have updated the Newsmag theme files on our staging site before going live. We have noticed that the padding / spacing in the body is off now, as well as the navigation is behaving strangely.

We have done some investigation – firstly we ensured that all theme files and plugins are updated.

We discovered that when we disable the “CDN” option in the “W3 Total Cache” plugin that the theme worked perfectly. As we require this plugin, we have tried to enable it and clear all caches etc. to no avail.

Have you come across this issue before, and if so, would you kindly be able to advise?

so it’s definitely some of the core theme css files that is conflicting with CDN URL’s (external URL’s)
I am not sure which one since this requires further debugging by testing every css file on your theme when CDN is enabled
if you don’t mind, you can contact your theme devloper about this

but note that CDN is still enabled and all other files including js and images are being served from the CDN”

We have determined that this issue only happens when we enable the CDN > MAXCDN option on the W3 total cache plugin. When we disable it it works fine. We have tried to enable it and clearing all caches to no avail.
So in short – W3 total cache with CDN enabled breaks our site with our new theme files – it was fine with the old files.
Have you come across an issue like this before?

Hi Etienne and thanks for reaching out. Are you by any chance using minify or some other sort of backend caching on your origin? From what I can see there are no errors on CDN files themselves, but the theme has some issues with its styles, so I would recommend disabling all caching/minify options in W3TC and leaving CDN option enabled only.

Hi there – I had a look and already the minify option is disabled on W3TC. The tick box is not ticked. Very strange. The only option that makes the theme files work correctly is if I disable cdn. Would you perhaps want to have a look in my wp backend?

We seem to have sorted out the above mentioned issues.

We now have one last small issue that we believe is unrelated.

It seems that the styling for the Social widgets on our pages aren’t pulling through anymore (please check right hand columns / bars):

This is rather bizarre. I have tried to re-activate the plugin and re-save the widgets but the styles aren’t pulling through. It does seem that the data is there though.

My name is Clint Lynch and I am a developer working with adworld.ie.
I have upgraded the theme to Newsmag 4 on the staging environment, the new “tagDiv Composer plugin” does not render the Single Image widget as the “WP Bakery Visual Composer plugin”.

Is it advisable to run both plugins at the same time, or should we bite the bullet and remove the “WP Bakery Visual Composer plugin” altogether?

How can I best override the “vc_single_image” to render the images as they were rendered by the “WP Bakery Visual Composer plugin”?
