Since custom post types do not work on this matter, there MUST be a way to filter posts assigned to two categories simultaneously only!
Otherwise, what sort of tool should we use to make category tree readable by editors? It is a total chaos

Unfortunately, our theme has been designed to work only with taxonomy and can be filtered only by one category, sorry! If you are using the custom post type, you should create your own taxonomy which is not a simple task and which involves additional customizations through the code. If you want to display more levels in our theme and if you are not aware of the steps which are needed to take in this regard, please consider hiring a freelancer/developer to help you because we cannot provide custom work at the moment, sorry!
