Updating Newspaper theme

Hi,
I’m a bit worried about updating the theme when it comes to loosing custom CSS and translation phrases. Using the “Update the theme via WordPress” rutine I’m supposed to delete the theme after choosing another one. Will not the CSS and the translation be removed also?

Hi,

Normally those should not be lost after the update process but it would be a good idea to try and save them as a backup, just to be sure. Here is a guide to help you with the update – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ whether you choose to make through wordpress or by FTP.

Always best to save any custom CSS placed into theme panel, and text in boxes, etc. into a backup text file for safe keeping; also consider copy-pasting custom homepage “code” to a file as well. Make note of any special text you have placed into widgets where you don’t have that info saved.
