Unable to make changes to VB pages

Hello,

I’ve just updated to Newspaper 7.8 and the accompanying Visual Builder. Unfortunately, the update doesn’t seem to have solved an issue I reported previously, namely – I’m not able to make changes to pages.

For instance, there’s a Pure HTML block that I want to replace with a WP Text block. Regardless of how many times I click Preview or Save, the old Pure HTML block still remains.

The caching plugin is disabled and CloudFlare is switched to development at the time of these changes.

Would you be able to please help me?

Thank you!

Hello bz,

Do you have updated your theme via FTP way? Otherwise, try to do it, clear all your caches, check your system status to be according to our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/ and check the results.

Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!

Thanks for your understanding!

Hi Catalln,

Thanks for getting back to me. Indeed, I updated Newspaper over FTP. I’m also using a child theme, so no changes were ever made to your original files.

As far as I can see, the server is set up properly, using PHP 7.0 with the following settings: http://imgur.com/a/Iem8w

I noticed that if I view the page in question (or any other, for that matter) in the Plain text editor, inside the Visual Builder’s tags, the content is not readable, but rather it appears as some sort of hash. I don’t know if that’s standard behaviour. Anyway, I copied said content into an entirely new page, then tried to make some changes through VB, but they were not saved. Again, all caching is disabled.

Could you help me in any way, please?

Thanks!

Hello,

Please disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it. Please also check any custom code you might have added to the theme panel or the theme files. If you use a child theme, please switch to the main theme to make sure it does not affect the proper functionality of the theme.
Also please make sure yor system status parameters are increased properly: https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/

Let us know if you still have trouble with this.

Thanks.

Hi there,

After some tinkering, I figured out the culprit was an extension called HTML Editor Syntax Highlighter. Once it’s disabled, pages can be edited without problems.
