Version 8.0 Update Issues / Empty Pages Displayed When Clicking On Post(s)

After updating the theme, the home page works. However, when clicking a post, there is a short pause, then a white (empty) page is displayed. We returned the working theme version 7.8.1 in place and tested the site as working fine. Could it be changes to the Theme Code?

Site is. http://www.bizcatalyst360.com

Hi,

Please try to disable all your plugins except the ones provided with the theme, clear any caching installed and CDN files as well. Then update the theme again using this method
https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/
Now check to see if you can access the posts properly.

Thanks

Hi Simeon:

As requested, all plugins were removed. The same issue persists, the home page renders, but posts do no (they display white blank pages). The debug log has lots of these entries:

[26-May-2017 11:59:16 UTC] PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined method td_options::get_array() in /home/bizcatal/public_html/wp-content/themes/Newspaper/parts/menu-mobile.php on line 10
[26-May-2017 11:59:26 UTC] PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined method td_options::get_array() in /home/bizcatal/public_html/wp-content/themes/Newspaper/parts/header/top-widget.php on line 15

When I revert back to the old version of the theme, everything works. When I enable all plugins over the old theme, all is still working.

Hi,

Please try to update the theme by FTP – https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/ then check if everything is working as it should.
Maybe the theme is not updating properly, this method is the surest way in this regard. Follow the steps as described and it should work properly. Please let us know how it goes.

Thanks

Update:

Using the method requested does not fix the issue. Everything was working as expected, the very moment the new version of the theme was activated, only a white screen was displayed in both front end and back end of WordPress. There were no plugins active whatsoever (they were all deleted), only the new theme and WordPress default TwentySeventeen themes were available. Using the older Newspaper 7.8.1 theme version, everything is working as required (even with plugins installed and activated).

Further update from our Server Admin:

Message to theme developer…

Is there a potential issue with the new editor (pagebuilder)?

In turn, it appeared some database tables were compromised and required restoration (as reverting to the previous them (still using the same data in tables) did not work.

Hi,

We have not had similar reports of problems with the theme update. I don’t know what could be causing this kind of issues with your website, and also have an impact on the database. A clean theme install and using only the bundled plugins should work properly.
You could send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide admin login information, as well as FTP access so we can take a look. Also paste a link to this topic.

Thanks
