install multiple themes?

Hello im a beginner and have a questions.
Why can not I install multiple themes? If I install another install the previous one is lost?

Hello,

You can install multiple themes into your wordpress by default. You simply install a new one and it will show up next to the others like so: https://www.screencast.com/t/F27XxexR5k8
It is not recommended however to have multiple versions of the same theme like for example, newspaper7, newspaper 7.6, newspaper 8. That is wrong and it will cause errors.
Do not use multiple instances of the same theme.
