Black Theme: Change background color gives weird header – background stays black

So I changed the header at some point to a dark brown, and I can change that color easily (though Theme editor doesn’t show the brown color?).

If I change the background color (which isn’t set to anything) in Theme colors>General theme colors>Background color it clips the header menu and doesn’t change the background. I’ve left the site up this way so you can see what I mean.

I see in custom CSS there’s a td.black, and if I remove that the background shows up but then everything is boxed and the content background becomes white.

Hi,

If you still have a problem, please provide more details about the issue, and some useful screenshots, so we can better understand the problem. Or even a link to your website, pointing to where this is happening.
When a background color or image is set, the website will transform to the boxed version, in order to display that background

There are options in the theme panel to stretch the header and footer elements, regardless of a set background

Thanks
