I don't see functions.php?

I’m reading over the section on how to speed up my site –> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/

In section, “5.2 To get the list of registered css and js,” says to update functions.php. In the image, it looks like it’s in the wp-admin directory. I don’t have this file anywhere that I can see.

Any ideas?

Hello Ryansmccain,

Notice that’s not in the wp-admin directory. The functions.php core files is situated under this directory in the file path as you can see here -> https://www.screencast.com/t/xDXHeKHYYbge

Thanks for your understanding!

Thanks for the response. I still don’t see it. See this vid: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F0SnGza8p_E&feature=youtu.be&hd=1

It’s in the theme folder, inside wp-content, in the folder shown.

All WordPress themes live inside the /themes/ folder, not the WordPress core folders.

Hello Ryansmccain,

The right path is -> wp-content >> themes >> Newspaper (your theme name) >> functions.php as you can see here -> https://www.screencast.com/t/P2WGo32sXWo or simply you can make your changes from Editor in WordPress, like this -> https://www.screencast.com/t/4TBwVo0iGpu

Thanks.

Also useful to download theme folder (Newspaper) to your hard drive, open it and ‘explore’ what is actually in there 😉
