Hi. When I click on the theme panel, the default page displays as text only, no formatting. There is a constant rotating box in the upper left corner, and a check mark next to it. I need to modify ads and I cannot get to them as the links are not responsive.
On a related note, I have tried to update to the latest version using the Envato app, but it also doesn’t do anything when clicked. I have downloaded the install and tried to update through the regular ‘appearance’ ‘themes’ area, but it won’t let me since Newspaper is already installed. I’m reluctant to delete and reinstall from scratch.

The surest method to update the theme is by FTP, but you can do it with WordPress as well. This is a guide mentioning the steps you need to take. As recommended make full backups before, just to be safe

You can contact your hosting provider and ask them to make the changes for you if needed, as they might have a recommended method in this matter.
