How to Display Sub Category On the Home Page

Hi, I have my blog posts categorized by Main category and sub-category
– Body
— Fitness
— Nutrition, etc.

On the home page, when it shows the article and category it shows the main category (Body). Is there any way to show it sub-category instead (Fitness). Otherwise, it looks like all articles are on the same topic, but they’re not.

The website is here > http://www.allwellnessguide.com

Hello gene-m,

Here is talking about the category tag. Notice that the theme does not have any such an option that allows you to add ay sub-category instead the category of the posts, sorry!

Thanks for the message!

Well, I need to have a category so all articles related to that category still show up when you go that page. So I have Category “Body” that contains Fitness, Nutrition, etc. So when someone goes to Body page they’ll see all other articles (http://www.allwellnessguide.com/article/category/body/). So that’s the reason I placed sub-categories into the main category. (Can that link be changed to just allwellnessguide.com/body without affecting article links?)

But it caused a problem because it’s not showing the sub-category Fitness, only Body, which makes it hard to figure out what the article is about, since most articles fall under body category

Is there any way to hide category and show sub-category? It’s very important.

Hi,

The category tag displayed on the modules will be the primary category of the post
https://forum.tagdiv.com/primary-category/
If the post has only one category, it’s tag will be displayed. If there are more categories for the post, by default the first one alphabetically will be displayed as a tag. You can set a primary category manually to control which tag is shown.

Thanks

I have set the primary category, however the breadcrumb is displaying the other category.

Thank you!

Hi,

@weselltickets
Replied in the other topic. The breadcrumb as the other mentioned elements will be affected by the theme primary category setting.

Thanks
