Your thumbs seem ok but you only have 3 posts to show in the top grid which requires 4. Please create another post to fill the grid.

Same problem here, testing your theme have the same proble http://newspaper.swinger.land the image doesn’t fill up the entire top box, Have tons of post and can’t change all featured images… is there a fix for this?
The same answer applies to you too. You simply do not have enough posts to fill it. You have filtered posts in such a way that only 1 post is returned. What is the rest of the grid supposed to be populated with? It needs posts to show.

The images that are set as featured are to small to allow the creation of bigger thumbnails, like this one for example

Big grids require bigger thumbnails to dispaly

So in this case you could either set bigger featured images for the posts, or use a thumbnail upscale plugin

Thanks, I modified the css to make a width:100% image and it look better, not perfect but better. đ
