When I try to share my content on social media sites like Facebook, it doesn’t fetch the preview of my site’s URL. Some URLs get fetched while some just show the plain site name with no image, no title, no description, and no image.

I am already using Yoast SEO plugin and the OG meta data is already enabled, the images used to appear along with other meta data on my previous theme but now neither images nor the description are being fetched, it doesn’t even fetch the title of the article. Just the domain name, nothing else.
and it is not the case for all the articles, some article’s meta data is being fetched normally.
Theme has no control over whether content is fetched or not. If your open graph and related data is there, and page is not throwing console errors, it’s entirely up to the social media system to ‘capture’ the content. FB routinely has issues with timeouts every couple of months. Google+ was busted one day last week; FB can get overloaded, too.
Often when this happens on FB; your *only* option is to retry later once their system is back to 100%, or you can try the save, then use the “refresh attachment” option on the FB post. I have to do this from time to time.
Again – all you can do is make sure your tags are there. You cannot ‘force’ any other site to do anything with your content. Their system has to do the heavy lifting.
This really should be on a “frequently asked questions” page as it’s been asked/answered 100+ times the past 4 years, and my answer above is still valid today.
