Update Newspaper Theme Instructions

Hello, when I try search for how to update newspaper theme I get only instructions for installing it. Could you please give me the steps to updating a theme? I’d like the easiest route possible.

I am usingn the child theme of 8.5, how do i update when i have a child theme?

Just update the parent theme using that guide. The child theme will not be affected.

I tried to update the website. The website crashed completely. I renamed the plugin folder on the server to get it running again. I activated the main plugins again.But on the front side only menu is showing, in the back end the visual composer short codes can be seen on pages. Still the active theme is 8.5
I need assistance to get the site running again.

Install the theme afresh via your cpanel (ftp). Then deactivate and delete the td composer plugin and install the one that is inside the theme in Newspaper>Plugins. That should solve your problem.

I did that and i have the site running again. But still theme 8.5 is active in the theme section in the dashboard. Also i don’t have visual composer anymore, if i try to activate the plugin that was before the site crushes again.

I thought you said you updated to version 8.7? Install the version 8.7 you downloaded from envato via your cpanel (ftp). Then deactivate and delete the td composer plugin and install the one that is inside the version 8.7 theme in Newspaper>Plugins. That should solve your problem.

Do i have to delete those td composer in Newspaper->Includes-> Plugins ?

I am so fed up. I installed the TDs from Newspaper->Plugins
Install js-composer in the plugin folder because i really need visual composer to edit my woocommerce products.
And i get sever error 500

Deactivate the td composer if you use wp bakery visual composer.
