The Instagram Widget Definitely has a bug!
The error message reads “Instagram data error: Instagram data is not set, plese check the ID” but above that, the title link works. It reads: “FOLLOW US ON INSTAGRAM @SURRYHILLSTIMES” and it successfully links to my Instagram, but the error message below remains.
Please help or sort this out!!!
Hi,
I just tried the Instagram widget on a page, one added with the composer and one as a sidebar widget

Result – https://www.screencast.com/t/n13qyC1P1v4
So everything seems to work as intended. If you could provide a link to this issue on your website, I will take a look.
Thanks
Thanks Simion,
The website: http://surryhillstimes.com/
Scroll down to the footer, you’ll see the error message after “Follow us on Instagram: @SurryHillsTimes which reads “Instagram data error: Instagram data is not set, plese check the ID”.
My Instagram is https://www.instagram.com/SurryHillsTimes/
I have filled out everything correctly ie, my Insta ID: SurryHillsTimes
Happy to provide you with my password and login details if necessary.
You’ll also note that the Instagram icon at the top of the Homepage links successfully to my Instagram account indicating I have filled out everything correctly.
Cheers
As stated, on the footer: “Follow us on Instagram: @SurryHillsTimes”, this actually works. But there is still an error message beneath it: “Instagram data error: Instagram data is not set, plese check the ID”. I don’t know why.
I have also now included a widget just above the footer which still has the same error message.
Okay, so I’ve opened the website on a different computer and the error message doesn’t appear!
Hi,
The notification appears only when you are logged in.
Please update the theme to the latest version 8.7.5. Instagram changed their api, but this issue was fixed from Newspaper 8.7.3.
Here you can find the update guide – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
Don’t forget to make a full backup before – https://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Backups
Thanks!
