How do I prevent the 100×70 image from being automatically generated from the newspaper theme?
Rather than turn off features in the Themes panel
I do not want the image file to be created.
Please let me know

Hi,
You can disable that size in the theme panel if you do not use it anywhere. As soon as you disable it, as you upload images that size will not be created anymore

That is why those options were created, to allow you to disable the thumbnails the theme creates, if needed
