TD Composer "page not working"

I am using WP version 4.9.6
I get the following error every time I try to use TD Composer:

This page isn’t working
(“my site name appears here”) didn’t send any data.
ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE

I have followed all the recommendations for configuring WP and PHP provided in the documentation and, I have green lights on the system status within Newspaper. I have also tried using several browsers to do this.

I have also uninstalled and reinstalled the theme and the plugin and have installed the plugin from the Newspaper plugin tab as well as the zip file provided and nothing seems to work.

I am using WP version 4.9.6

Hello Mpburgus,

Do you have installed the latest version of the theme? Ensure that you are installed the latest version of it via FTP way and check after the results. I suggest you make a new install to another subdomain for testing and check the results.

Thanks for your understanding!

What is the latest version and how do I get the latest version if I am not using the latest version?

So, I have now uploaded it via ftp like you suggested and now the TD composer is not an option on the front end like it was before. I tried to install the plugin from the zip file provided and from the themes menu and still nothing.

I’m getting the same error when trying to open TD Composer:

(“my site name appears here”) didn’t send any data. ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE

I’m running wordpress 4.9.6 and Newspaper v8.8.1

I’ve uninstalled/re-installed WordPress a couple times as well as the theme. This error appears no matter if I create a page, edit a page (tried loading one of your demo’s) etc.. Below is the URL given when I click the TD Composer button:

http://www.mysite.com/wp-admin/post.php?post_id=40&td_action=tdc&tdbTemplateType=page&prev_url=%2F%2Fwww.mysite.com%2Fwp-admin%2Fedit.php%3Fpost_type%3Dpage

Hello,

I suggest re-installing again the theme via FTP way, according to our documentation from here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/ Clear all the caches and check the results. Notice that until now, we do not encounter any problems regarding on theme installing. Follow this way and let us know how it goes!

Thanks.

I did get the plugin to load but not on the homepage. The page was created by the newspaper theme and was one of the demo sites minus content. I could not get the demo to install with content after uploading via ftp it refused to install saying it lacked permission yet when I install it via wp it does not have the same issues.

The issue is NOT with the theme but with the plugin. I thought I had made that very clear, considering the title of the post is the plugin NOT the theme. I also think you failed to pay attention as I have stated that I have uninstalled WordPress and reinstalled it which means its cache no longer exists and I have also reset the server os so again no cache.

I built a sandboxed version of this theme on my local computer using a bitnami VM and all the same settings as my live site (same wordpress version/theme version/PHP version/browsers etc..) and everything worked fine.

I looked at wireshark between the local VM and live site and saw the initial TCP session looks the same until after the [SYN, ACK].

On my local VM the PC sends an HTTP POST to “/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php HTTP/1.1”, gets an [ACK], then gets an “HTTP/1.1 200 OK (application/json)” packet back, sends an [ACK], then sends an HTTP GET “/wp-admin/post.php?post_id…….” and everything starts up.

The live site seems to skip all that and go straight to the HTTP GET “/wp-admin/post.php?post_id…….” then timeout the TCP session.

Am I missing something on my php configuration on my live site? Is that something you guys can help look at?
