First of: I really love this theme. It works awesome for me in several places.
Now, I would like to publish articles in a more storytelling way, like this: https://omvarldenberattar.se/zambia-gron-revolution/ with parallax images, no sidebar, narrow centered column and added graphics. Is that even possible to do within the Newspaper theme?

That is more like a page which it actually is, not a post. However as of version 8.8 you can now use the tagDiv composer to build/import predefined post templates and other templates

So you could design a post template with parallax images and all the elements that are available in the tagDiv composer at the moment.

Yes, creating a page seems to be the way. So I tried it and was using Slider revolution for the images, but can’t get the parallax effect to work anywhere. Any ideas why?

I have enabled the parallax settings for the row and still nothing. Also, I can’t see any parallax effect in the demo link you provided.
The parallax is visible when the first row ends and the second begins. All that has to be done is to set a background of your choosing for the row, image or video for example. Then activate the parallax effect and full height if needed

Also the rows can be stretched to predefined or full widths. More complex options for the parallax effect may be added in the future, for the moment only an on/off toggle is available.
So it’s not possible to have a parallax effect if there’s something inside the row? Like in my example, the picture is a rev slider instead of background picture.
The parallax setting is available only for entire rows, not by column or elements in rows.
With Revolution slider it would be possible to create parallax slides, check some online guides and tutorials. Such as this one for example
