Hello,
You can only create a custom block using the theme api, but you do not have to since the latest theme implementation. You can use one of 3 flex blocks in the tagdiv composer which allow you to create blocks with the layout you need. https://www.screencast.com/t/vzbROThbyy

I’m not having the Flex Block 3 option.I’m running V 8.8.1

That was added in the theme update 8.8.2, so you would see only 2 flex blocks. If you decide to update this is a guide
