You probably have wp-debug active – https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
Where is that notice appearing exactly? Does it cause any problems? Did you make any modifications to the theme functions file or other files directly?
Is the same happening if you deactivate all plugins except theme plugins?
