problem with additional text being added to JS code that cause it to break

Hi guys,

Im trying to add a simple js tag to the section of Google analytics and js code section in the theme options.
however when I paste the tag, on the site itself I get this text being added to the tag:
type=”50e177f34662e44a4c4a365e-text/javascript”

the orignial tag looks like this:
<script src=’https://www.googletagservices.com/tag/js/gpt.js’&gt;
googletag.pubads().definePassback(‘/90155224/smartereum.com/1×1′, [1, 1]).display();
</script>

the problematic tag with the additional text:
<script src=’https://www.googletagservices.com/tag/js/gpt.js&#8217; type=”50e177f34662e44a4c4a365e-text/javascript”>
googletag.pubads().definePassback(‘/90155224/smartereum.com/1×1’, [1, 1]).display();
</script>

How do I avoid this part

it was pasted exactly like you said, with our js code, which you can see at the original post. but this keeps being adding up !!!

Please take a look and answer how to solve this. it is urgent
