Sidebar Keeps Disappearing

Since I updated to WordPress 5, my sidebars have disappeared.

The custom sidebars I created are still the in the widgets menu but they’re all empty.

Then, when I add the widgets again they’re visible on the front end, until they disappear again for no apparent reason.

Can anyone help with this?

Hi,

Updating the theme or WordPress may move widgets from the sidebars in the inactive widget area

They still retain their previous settings but are inactive. That would be normal to happen.

But if they disappear again after adding them, then there is a problem. Maybe the sidebars have unusual symbols or characters in their name

If they do this issue may happen, the sidebar widgets will be reset.
