Hello, is there a way how to generate custom size thumbnails only for the featured images? I have thousands of images where I want to have only the small, medium and large, but not all the other sizes used only for blocks. This would consume TBs of server space. Please advise.

Each size created by the theme can be disabled if needed, in the theme panel. Check where the thumbnails are used and disable the ones you want – http://prntscr.com/mmj7t2

I understand how it is done in general. However my question is specific to disabling Newspaper custom sizes only for non-featured images.
I want to resize only the featured, but the rest in the post shall be saved only in its original size without additional sizes.

I really can’t say what modifications in the theme code would be needed in this case. It works just as in WordPress, the images that are uploaded will generate various thumbnails.
Maybe periodically use a plugin that can remove unused thumbnails, for example the ones mentioned in this topic
