Hi I have installed a fresh copy on newspaper and above error occurs when trying to install tagdiv plugins that came along with the theme.

Please use only the version of theme plugins that you have in the theme package get from themeforest ( for example if you are using the Newspaper v9.2 you need to use the theme plugin that came with package 9.2, you can not use the Newspaper theme 9.2 and the plugins them prov 9.5 or 9.1 );
Please make sure that all the settings are like in our requirements, please follow the guide carefully

and please increase all requirements that are lower, and follow all steps.
Please make sure that you do not have a plugin conflict with untested plugins, please deactivate all non theme/tested plugins, also if you are using child theme, clear all cache and try again.

I am not using any external plugins so the version is the same since the plugin comes with the theme itself. There is no child theme either so there should be no conflict as such. Please see if you can help with that.

Why not simply install the plugin by FTP, that would take about a couple of minutes. The theme plugins are provided in the theme package plugins folder

Unzip the composer and upload it in the WordPress wp-content->plugins folder. That would be all there is to it.
There are many cases of this issue happening, a simple search on Google and this can be seen, also various fixes can be found

Yes, that works but I want to know what is causing the problem. In addition to the plugins giving this error, there are other features missing from the theme as well. For instance, multipurpose headers are not there in the theme panel. Is there any way to fix that?

Usually this happen when are problems with server, host or the requirements are not well set.
In order to have the multipurpose header you need to have the tagDiv Composer activate
