Hi,

I have a multliangual wordpress site translated using polylang. The problem is that the theme shows the same footer page for all the different language versions.

So although the site is switched to english version it still shows the footer page of a default language although the right one has been translated. How to fix this?

All the best

Hello !

In order to translate the footers titles you have to go into Theme panel – Translations and search for the titles you want to translate: https://www.screencast.com/t/stiGp5eb

Thank you!

This couldn`t be more unhelpful than it is. Please understand my problem first.

I have a footer page: https://innomedica.ee/footer/ in Estonian.
When I translate it to english it does not show up in the english version. It still shows the estonian one. English footer: https://innomedica.ee/en/footer-2/

I need the english version of the site to show the english footer.

Hello !

Sorry for missunderstangind your issue.

Unfortunately Polylang plugin is untested by our team so we cannot offer support for this issue.

We do reccomend WPML Plugin. Please take a look at this topic: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/multiple-language-newspaper/

Thank you !

Hi Vlad,
Well I do have the same issue with my footer as well. I am using the latest version of WPML, Newspaper 9.7.2. My footer is in Albanian language and I have translated everything just fine but when I make the changes to english they do not show on the live website. Please any suggestions how to fix this issue?

Hi,

@ceskmrozi
Do you use a footer page or a footer template?

If you use a footer page you can change the pages per language, this is a similar topic
https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/translation-of-footer-pager-does-not-work/

If you use a default footer template, you can set each widget to appear in specific languages, like this – http://prntscr.com/nvuo2f

Each of these should work correctly. What exactly are you doing and what is happening? I will attempt to recreate it on my end. Let me know.

Thanks

Hi Simon,
I use a default footer template and in the widgets I do not have the footer-template to switch it!? In the pages I have translated the footer-template in English but when I switch the website to English only the footer does not change?

Cesk

So you use a footer template. Then you could use the settings for widgets and display the ones you want to appear for each language, as I mentioned above – https://prnt.sc/nvuo2f

For example you can set some widget to appear for one language, and some to appear on a different language. They will change when the language is changed.
In this example I have 2 widget blocks in a footer column – http://prntscr.com/nxep83
One is set to appear for English – http://prntscr.com/nxepir and one for French
http://prntscr.com/nxepqn
When I view a post for example, in English the English widget appears
http://prntscr.com/nxeqme
When I view the post in French, the French widget appears – http://prntscr.com/nxeqws

You could consider using pages in the footer, designed as you want, with the elements you want in them. You can create one for each language and set them as mentioned in the topic from above.

If something is now working properly for you, please specify what exactly are you doing and what is happening. I will check on my end.
