first of all: Great Theme!
We have problems with galleries. The input field for image captions just supports about 30 to 33 letters. How can I change the editor layout to show more than one line?

Please make sure that you do not have a plugin conflict with untested plugins, please deactivate all plugins and child theme ( if you are using ) and let only the tagDiv Composer , clear all cache, deactivate the cache plugin and try again.
If this is not what you mean, please provide some more details and some screenshots or a link where I can inspect the captions from your gallery.

You can change the capitation on images, from gallery by clicking the image -> https://www.screencast.com/t/P6GsTF7NB, unfortunately there is no option to increase the size -> https://www.screencast.com/t/TpyWkZka sorry, also if there will be made some changes in theme files for this, those will be lost if you’ll make a theme update.
